Latest Findings in Type 1 Diabetes Research Grassroots Health
April 16, 2019 - video to be posted here when it is ready: May 2019?
- “Relatives of people with T1D are 15 times more likely to develop the disease than the general population”
- “The JDRF, the American Diabetes Association, and the Endocrine Society have now published that T1D should be diagnosed when an individual has two or more of the known islet cell autoantibodies, even when blood sugar is normal (Stage 1), two or more autoantibodies (Stage 2), and clinical diagnosis (Stage 3).
It is now believed by some that in the absence of any intervention, the risk of a T1D diagnosis is nearly 100% if an individual is already at Stage 1 or Stage 2.”

Vitamin D Receptor table shows what compensates for low VDR activation
Compensate for poor VDR by increasing one or more:
Increasing | Increases |
1) Vitamin D supplement Sun Ultraviolet -B | Vitamin D in the blood and thus in the cells |
2) Magnesium | Vitamin D in the blood AND in the cells |
3) Omega-3 | Vitamin D in the cells |
4) Resveratrol | Vitamin D Receptor |
5) Intense exercise | Vitamin D Receptor |
6) Get prescription for VDR activator paricalcitol, maxacalcitol? | Vitamin D Receptor |
7) Quercetin (flavonoid) | Vitamin D Receptor |
8) Zinc is in the VDR | Vitamin D Receptor |
9) Boron | Vitamin D Receptor ?, etc |
10) Essential oils e.g. ginger, curcumin | Vitamin D Receptor |
11) Progesterone | Vitamin D Receptor |
12) Infrequent high concentration Vitamin D Increases the concentration gradient | Vitamin D Receptor |
13) Sulfroaphane and perhaps sulfur | Vitamin D Receptor |
14) Butyrate especially gut | Vitamin D Receptor |
15) Berberine | Vitamin D Receptor |
Note: If you are not feeling enough benefit from Vitamin D, you might try increasing VDR activation. You might feel the benefit within days of adding one or more of the above
VitaminDWiki suspects great reduction in T1D by use of VDR activators such as Omega-3
Note: Omega-3 in food has decreased in the past few decades, but Omega-6, which blocks Omega-3 has increased 6X in the past 50 years. This increased Omega-6 makes it difficult to get a good Omega-3 index by adding Omega-3. A person must also decrease the Omega-6 in their food
Note: Omega-6 increases inflamation, which results in T1D, T2D, Cardiovascular problems, etc
