Step 2 of the 7 steps is: “Get enough sun and Vitamin D”
VitaminDWiki notes from quick read of the Vitamin D section of the book
I agree with him and that Sun >> UV >> Vitamin D - especially for MS
I agree with him that 600,000 IU loading dose is OK
He has many studies of MS and Sun/Vitamin D
generally 4,000 to 10,000 IU - but one study used 14,000 IU
Observes that more vitamin D results in better MS treatment
The word cofactors does not appear in the book
He says that "probably" an MS person does not need to supplement with Calcium
The word Coimbra does not appear in the book (Dr. Coimbra in Brazil uses 150 nanograms)
My summary
A step in the right direction, but does not step far enough
Perhaps he is limiting his text to what a MS person can do for themselves (treat),
rather than what doctors have been able to do for 1,000 MS patients (carefully) with lots of vitamin D - CURE
- Overview MS and vitamin D
- Multiple Sclerosis category listing has
412 items along with related searches - 17 reasons why are doctors reluctant to accept vitamin D
Doubt that the author could have gotten so many doctors to endorse his book if he had included dose sizes which would have eliminated many of their jobsMS updates from Brazil
- Treatment with daily high doses of vitamin D Overcoming MS May 2013
Of course, this is not a cure it's a life-long treatment.. but at least it stops the progression and in many cases even revert back some (sometimes all) of the brain lesions. - Huge page - all in Portuguese about Coimbra's work
- Web site of patients who have been cured by Dr. Coimbra Australia 150 ng is the target
Great sequential posts, over a year. by an Australian patient whose MS was reversed by Dr. Coimbra - I Have Multiple Sclerosis: I Am Treating My MS With High Doses Vitamin D experienceproject. May 2013
Gives a fair amount of details, such as taking lots of water and monitoriing for excess Calcium.
Note A home test kit for excess Calcium in the urine is available $10 for 10 tests - Dr. Holick visited with the patients in Brazil Sept 2013
Multiple Sclerosis and (lots of) Vitamin D - book by patient on Coimbra protocol - Feb 2016 contains protocol description

Snips as of April 2016 http://www.vitamindprotocol.com/dr.-coimbra-s-ms-protocol.html- 1,000 IU's vitamin D per kilogram as a first approximation
(apparently increased/decreased depending of resulting vitamin D blood level) - Vitamin B2, magnesium glycinate, boron, chromium picolinate, Omega 3 DHA, Zinc, Methylcobalamin form of B12, Choline, etc.
- Lack of B12 may affect 10%–15% of the general population and may be the most prevalent genetic risk factor for several human diseases
- Discontinue eating or drinking dairy products or calcium enriched foods or beverages, also no Ca supplements
- Drink as least 2.5 liters [85 ounces] of fluids, preferably water
