About once a year I get a cold from my wife after about a week
This time I tried to use all of the ways which I suspected might stop a cold
When having a health problem during the past few decade I try everything
– I call it my shotgun approach
They worked !!!
change clothes | eliminate cold viruses |
Take 18 mg Zinc every 2 hours | RCT conclusion |
Take Sodium ascorbate every 12 hours | Wife switched us from Vitamin C (which might cause GERD problems) |
Eat more food | Pause my weight-loss diet |
Wash bedclothes | eliminate cold viruses |
Use air cleaners in 2 rooms | eliminate cold viruses – they have hepa filters, UV, and ionization eliminate cold viruses The three types we use Sost $50 - $130 on Amazon |
2 sun naps | Feel benefit of Vitamin D in hours instead of days |
Topical Vitamin D | Feel benefit of Vitamin D in hours instead of days Cream - commerical or make it yourself |
Vitamin D mouthwash | Feel benefit of Vitamin D in hours instead of days Just dissolve a capsule of vitamin D in about 1/4 teaspoon of water Use as mouthwash for 5 minutes, then swallow |
This combination worked for me.
6 of the techniques have been proven by RCT to stop/prevent colds
I probably only needed a subset
Interestingly, her cold stopped too.
She had taken a 50,000 IU capsule of vitamin D - not fast acting
in addition to washing bedclothes, air filters, etc.
