US infant formula to catch up with Europe on vitamin D – 400 IU a day from 25 oz instead of 50 oz
Trump Administration Announces First Major Update to Infant Formula Standards in Nearly 30 Years
At the proposed minimum of 80 IU per 100 kcal, 25 oz gives about 400 IU a day, and that applies only to a 1–2-month-old.
A 3–6-month-old drinking 30–32 oz would get about 480–510 IU.
Most US formulas, though, already contain more than the minimum.
