Can speculate even greater weight loss in a RCT which:

  1. Start with a loading dose - say 50,000 IU daily for the first week
  2. Used a higher dose of vitamin D - perhaps 50,000 IU weekly (= 200,000 IU monthly)
  3. Added 100 mg of Magnesium daily- in the form of Magnesium Chloride
    Magnesium (in the water) can increase the response to a dose of vitamin D
    Perhaps the adults in this study drank hard water (Magnesium)
       That is, perhaps there was something in the water
