A species of Lactobacillus: L. reuteri 30242 reduces cholesterol by creating an enzyme which makes cholesterol less absorbable.

Amazing that a species existing in many humans can be patented
Perhaps use of antibiotics wiped out L. reuteri 30242 in many guts, but now we can pay to have them restored
